The Queensland Institute of Play Therapy offers training to help service providers feel more confident in their work, complete the training requirements to become a Registered Play Therapist through the Australian Play Therapists Association, and increase the number of skilled Play Therapists in the community.
The training is split into five separate workshops. Each workshop focuses on humanistic, attachment-based, and interpersonal neurobiological principles. Theories such as Family Systems are covered in detail. The workshops also cover practical techniques ranging from setting up the play room to implementing the use of puppets, music, art, and sand.
The 247 training hours meet the training requirements for Play Therapist Registration with the Australian Play Therapists Association (APTA). Queensland Institute of Play Therapy has been recognised by the Australian Play Therapy Association as an approved Play Therapy Training Provider.
